Programs
KAT 5 addresses the problem of animals in distress in many ways. We are reactive in responding to natural or man-made disaster situations, we also have a number of proactive programs.
- Disaster Response & Rescue
- This program deploys volunteers to disaster locations as needed to provide rescue efforts, supplies and support for animals and their humans in need.
- Snip/Tuck
- This is our spay/neuter program, and includes TNR as well.
- Dante's Infirmary
- Our medical fund program. We are often asked for help with vet bills for animals who have been injured or infected, many of these come from new owners who have taken in mistreated and abused animals without knowing the full extent of the damage. We never want to see an animal put down who could make a full recovery, simply due to lack of funds.
- Traveling Tails
- Our rescue / transport program - taking animals from certain death and moving them to no-kill rescues where they can be adopted into loving homes.
- Litters To Go
- This intervention program stops unwanted litters of puppies from being dumped into the shelter, where they are exposed to diseases without the strength to fight. We provide initial vetting and move them to no-kill rescues for adoption.
